How profits, taxes, and global warming science actually work

Knowledge is power

Without knowing how profits work in business or how politics work in global warming, young liberals enter the arena without defenses against leftist propaganda.

How profits in business work

Young liberals see how some older men are CEOs making million dollar salaries and living a life of power and luxury.  What they do not see is the forty years of working eighty hours a week and the education that went into generating that wealth and rising in companies to become CEOs.  What they believe is that CEOs are handed their positions without any skills by their rich parents who built the company.  The few such parents who are foolish enough to do that see all they have built quickly squandered and destroyed.

Profits are what make companies grow.  They are not bonuses paid to executives, or dividends paid to investors.  Profit is what is left over after all production is paid for including; all buildings, materials, transportation, production, salaries, benefits, sales, plus all returns to investors.  Profits are used to expand a company through research and new markets by building more production centers, hiring more people, and conducting more sales.  The more profits, the more growth, the less profits, the less growth if not actual shrinkage as has been occurring recently.

Look at it this way:

  • The man who builds luxury yachts sells to rich men buys himself a yacht.
  • The man who built the yacht buys himself a cabin cruiser.
  • The man who built the cabin cruiser buys himself a speed boat.
  • The man who built the speed boat buys himself a fishing boat.
  • The man who built the fishing boat buys himself a row boat.
  • The man who built the row boat buys himself a toy boat.
  • And the young man who built the toy boat buys himself a swimsuit.

What the young liberal does not see and fails to understand is that the man who builds the luxury yacht today started out forty years ago building toy boats.

1940s cartoon explains what is lacking in schools today – how profit works

Nobody starts out at the top.  Would you want a buck private commanding the army?  Would you want a toddler racing in NASCAR?  Getting to the top requires hard work and, though everyone cannot achieve the greatest success, everyone can achieve a degree of success, but only by striving for it.  Nothing is given to those who wait for a handout.

How taxes work

Taxes come in two forms; those that are taken from subjects by their rulers, and those that are collected by their protectors for their sustenance.  The former is taken by the king as he pleases and how you fare depends on if it pleases him to leave you any of what you make for yourself.  This is when the people serve the government.  The latter is when the government, as in America, serves the people.

The corrupt will want the latter system to become the former so that they can rule and take what they want.  They do this by corrupting the populace with promises of greater handouts and pandering to their greed and envy of those who have already achieved success.  Those who believe giving the government more will benefit them need only look at the Social Security Fund that was set up for older retirees in 1933, but was then raided by the Democrat Congress in 1968.

Likewise, believing that increasing the minimum wage and taxes on the rich will benefit the poor is equally defective.  If you built a better mouse trap so that the world beat a path to your door, and you provided jobs to ten thousand employees, don’t you think you would deserve a million dollar salary?  But if the government told you to pay your least educated and experienced employees more, where would that money come from – your profits you use to expand?  Then there are fewer jobs for other new people.

More so, if the government told you because you have such a high salary that you should pay more for the benefits of government, would you do with less or would you pay yourself more so that you maintain your income?  Again, where does that money come from – profits or laying off employees?  Either way it is the person farther down the ladder who is going to suffer the most by not having a job.

Why should the employer do with less?  Does he get more services from government?  Did he not already greatly benefit the community by creating good paying jobs?  Some may think so if they believe he gets benefits in the form of tax loopholes and business subsidies, but those are the work of corruption in government and should not exist in a just government.  This is how America has deteriorated over the last century under Democrats who believe government is the source of wealth and not the entrepreneur.

How climate change works

Even if CO2 could make the planet warmer, making Earth warmer will not make it a desert, but a lusher green.  The reason for this is because Earth is a water planet!  So if the air heats then more water evaporates and makes the planet wetter, not drier.  Additionally, carbon dioxide is a heavier than air gas that helps plants grow.

Fossil fuels make the Earth greener, not drier

Refuting global warming science is elementary

Educating liberals is the only way to help get America back on track.  This malaise caused by liberal thinking, liberal policies, and the liberal agenda misguiding America’s youth through liberal propaganda is destroying the American Dream.  No other nation on Earth has raised more people out of poverty, and liberalism is stealing away the nation’s wealth to give to their friends, all while duping the public with the hype and blame.

Democrats say greedy, rich Republicans ship jobs overseas for cheap labor.  The truth is that rich Republicans AND Democrats ship jobs overseas to escape high Democrat taxes.  Under Obama there is no need to go overseas for cheap labor.  He’s bringing them here in the form of illegal aliens to take jobs that “Americans won’t do.”  The truth is they are being brought here because Democrats need a permanent underclass that lives in poverty and depends on government handouts, who remain ignorant and can be coerced and cajoled into voting for them so they can retain the power to pick the pockets of the rich.

Why the simple math of business and science escapes liberal minds

Dusty, my God, that’s stretching reality to its extreme. I don’t believe I’ve heard anyone ever say that man “controls” the climate. I’d like you to post where you read or heard that, I doubt you can. What has been recognized by clear thinking individuals w/significant knowledge and expertise on the subject is that Co2 levels are deteriorating the earths ozone which results in climate distortion or if you will, climate change some times referred to as global warming. These anomalies can result in hotter temps, draughts, colder winters, abnormal snow falls, unusual glacier deteriations, etc. These things are occurring and yes they have occurred in our history but not to the degree they have been occurring in recent history. Man controlling climate, I think not. Mans increased use of fossil fuels resulting in increased Co2 levels resulting in ozone depletion, that’s something that is not disputed. What’s disputed is the effects of that depletion.

Even if man isn’t causing the rise is temperature, it’s a good move to renovate our transportation and energy production for the day when a catastrophe happens and we can no longer rely on oil. Electric cars is a win win and so is renewable energy. More choices.

Bruce Milne Believing that man’s pollution can change the climate is believing we can control it by controlling our pollution. CO2 changing our planetary atmosphere has been proven a complete fraud. Heavier than air gases do not go into the ozone layer or anywhere else. https://liberalsbackwardsthink.com/2014/07/09/refuting-global-warming-science-is-elementary/

Daniel Watkins trying to switch to electric cars which the taxpayer pays $50,000 each to subsidize and that rely on electricity generated mostly by coal plants is not a win win for anyone except the government and the car company scamming the taxpayer.

What catastrophe could cause us to suddenly be unable to rely on oil? Our transportation and energy production will be “renovated” when that is economically feasible.

Bruce Milne “that Co2 levels are deteriorating the earths ozone which results in climate distortion”

Literally nobody who knows anything about atmospheric physics is saying anything of the sort. The sole question surrounding climate change is to what extent does CO2 prompt a warming effect due to water vapor. CO2 has nothing to do with ozone.

You are an idiot of the first water. Please do the species a favor and refrain from reproducing. Thank you.

Daniel Watkins Hate to break the news but batteries are extremely dangerous and no substitute. If alternate fuel is necessary, the free enterprise system will develop it. Just like the internet (I know algore thinks he invented it but he didn’t), computers, TVs, even radios, telephones and on and on. Free enterprise, not government control will make it happen when it’s meant to happen and at a price and availability that makes sense.

Bruce Milne I think Dusty was referring to the progressive mantra that because of man’s presence, climate change/global warming in the result, to wit, more abortions and especially fewer conservative thinkers(off with our heads) there would be not change in the climate.?!

Daniel Watkins Since it’s a win win, let private investment do the winning and leave things like the military to federal government – it specializes in the winning end of win/lose situations and isn’t very attractive to investment by private enterprise.

Try and get your facts straight please…”Five layers of atmosphere cloak the Earth protectively. The lower atmospheric layer where people breathe every day is the troposphere. Two layers that make up the middle atmosphere — the stratosphere, where jets fly, and the mesosphere — cover the troposphere. The upper atmosphere contains both the thermosphere, where the aurora borealis lights up the sky, and the exosphere, where the atmosphere meets space. The ozone layer lies within the stratosphere. Carbon dioxide concentrations are increasing in all layers but the exosphere.” CO2 does not affect the Ozone layer.

Bruce Milne Do you even know what C02 is? Do you know what a catalytic converter is? Do you know the difference between C02 and Carbon Monoxide? Are you aware that you and I exhale C02? Plants love C02..they in turn give off oxygen..which keeps people alive. If you want the ratio of C02 as a gas in the atmosphere, here are the stats: If you had a stadium with 10,000 seats in it, the amount of C02 would equal only 4 of those seats. The warmest period of global temperatures, were found in the Middle Ages. Must have been those pesky SUVs back then

Bruce Milne So how do you explain that our earth has gone through this same thing many times. Why would you think just the US making changes will help? It’s the third world countries, not us that produce the vast majority of pollution and that is not going to change as long as we buy their crap. I would venture to guess that if the US passed carbon trading, we would not make a dent but Al Gore and Goldman Sachs stand to make billions off the scheme.

Daniel Watkins So Walmart went to the Obama administration asking them for natural gas refueling stations on major truck routes be subsidized to make the numerous enough to convert their fleet.

Instead we invested in already bankrupt companies like Solyndra – while the execs walked with their full pay and bonuses…..

Vlad Jersian The politicization of science is the manipulation of science for political gain. It occurs when government, business, or advocacy groups use legal or economic pressure to influence the findings of scientific research or the way it is disseminated, reported or interpreted. The politicization of science may also negatively affect academic and scientific freedom. Historically, groups have conducted various campaigns to promote their interests in defiance of scientific consensus, and in an effort to manipulate public policy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politicization_of_science
