Islamic reform; people mistake Christian Reformation with religion ‘maturing’

islamic reform

Thinking that Islam can be reformed away from the horrors of Jihad and Sharia is foolishly thinking the religion can be done away with at best.

People who think the religion of Islam is going through “growing pains” in the same way Christianity did do not understand what the Reformation and today’s Jihadi resurgence actually represent.  After fifteen hundred years, Christians rebelled against the Catholic Church that had become so corrupt that priests were demanding monetary payment from believers to get into Heaven.  These “indulgences” represent the low point of the Church and, when the Gutenberg Bible was printed so that people who could read learned what Jesus actually said, Martin Luther of Germany and John Calvin of England led revolts against the Pope to throw off the yoke of the Catholic Church.

Christianity didn’t go horribly wrong until the 11th century when the Pope of Rome excommunicated the Patriarch of Constantinople who responded in kind beginning the Great Schism.  That these men believed they could deny the other Communion, and thereby deny them admission to Heaven, was the lowest corruption of Christianity in which the only qualification for admission to Heaven is faith in Christ as Savior.  The corrupted Church held Heaven to ransom for the ignorant peasants until the printing press made the Bible available to everyone.

Islam has not gone through this and is not going through any revelation.  The teachings of Mohammad have been well documented and well taught for centuries.  Mohammad waged war on Mecca for refusing to make him their spiritual leader.  He conquered his tribal leaders and called on his followers to bring all nations under the boot of Islam.  Jihadis are not violating the teachings of Mohammad, they are living up to them.

Religions and societies do not “mature” over centuries.  People have known for over two thousand years that the best form of government is the Republic that was first developed by Rome.  The idea that socialism is a maturing of society is completely false as it is a reversion to absolute power of the dictator to insure that all the peasants live the same with none rising above others.  In the same way, religions do not mature, they can only either be corrupted or be restored to their original form, and that is what happened to Christianity and is happening with Islam.

This all stems from the belief that there are “moderate Muslims” who do not believe in Jihad when the truth is they just don’t believe in waging Jihad.  Most people want to live in peace and raise their families.  But that is not what is at the heart of Islam, and this is where the two percent who want to wage Jihad on the West go for their faith.  The vast majority of Moslems still want to inflict Sharia Law on the world in the name of Islam.

Very well said… Those Muslims who refuse to pick up the Islamic jihad sword (claim only peaceful intent) will most like be the first slain by it. Then, the same end for the rest of us infidels… To STOP this jihad now, and forever, there is only one option. They only respect shear power and total domination, so let’s introduce them to that!!! There is no deal to be made, nor peace to be negotiated without showing them that we mean business. Nuke ’em ’til they glow, from Syria to Iran, then mop up the remaining few who got away, and the rest of Islam will gladly agree to 100 years of peace…

Steve Neal : Well said. THAT is the ONLY way to deal with these monsters. My Crusader forbears knew this, and took care of the problem for a few hundred years. With Nukes, and Fuel-Air bombs to mop up, we might get a thousand years of Peace.

Guys, I have to say that if you approach this with a sledge hammer it can only lead to smashing more things in the future. My whole article is about teaching them to turn away from Islam and not letting them spread this violent religion into the world. Containment or conversion. If it leads to war, then we will deal with them. For now, it is our own economic and political folly that is allowing this ideology to spread.

Terry Rosen I hate to burst your bubble, but by that logic all of humanity originated from the same book, but we’re all different. The one thing that is certain is that the God of Israel is not the god of Mohammad.

It’s not logic. It’s factual history. The origin of the three faiths is common knowledge. That’s why they are called the Abrahamic faiths.

Terry Rosen Linking them all to Abraham is insignificant. The God of Israel and Christ is not the god of Mohammad.

Dusty Koellhoffer- I agree with most of your comments but there are a few exceptions: The introduction to your article about Islamic reform is obviously written from a protestant perspective and I think it’s somewhat simplistic. Also John Calvin was born in Noyon, France; his name was Jean Cauvin, later latinized to Calvinus.

True, Marco. I’m writing a short article, not a doctoral dissertation. 🙂 I was raised in the Catholic Church in N.J. where I learned, as did many of my friends and family, to become an atheist. At seventeen I began to understand there is a god and had some teachers and friends who were Christians begin to guide me to finding God and eventually accepting Christ at 29. I’ve studied history in depth since high school, especially military history, and have come to understand a great many things in the thirty years since coming to Christ. In the process I also studied religions and became very familiar with the wars of religion in Europe and the spread of Islam through conquest. Unfortunately, I have to deal with imparting that knowledge a few paragraphs at a time. It’s tough to keep the attention of the average person who will never spend the time to read the encyclopedia, so I must make the most of what little time they will spend reading what I write.

Marty Koellhoffer The North Vietnamese were doing this 50 years ago. Doubt that Mohammad invented it. He learned it from the other Arabs. In the Vietnam War we called it the Tet Offensive. The North Vietnamese asked for it and when we relaxed a little they launched a massive offensive in more than 100 cities. History, my boy, history.

Dusty Koellhoffer You’re trying to school me on history? All warfare is deception – Sun Tzu 500 B.C. This post by Brigitte has nothing to do with Vietnam or military offensives, so your example of Vietnam is way out past left field. It’s about a religion that teaches deception is good because that religion is at war with the world.

So would everyone else. What I fear is that the big four (USA, Europe, Russia, China) destroy each other and leave Islam to be the largest power in the world.

Islam (Mohammedanism) CANNOT be reformed. It must be treated like National Socialism, and cleansed from the Earth (as much as possible).

When will Christians reform and return to christ’s message of love? Clean your own house first before you tell others how to clean theirs.

Do you mean Christians should send more evangelists into Islamic states? Do you mean Christians should submit to having their throats slit as an act of love?

Christians are killing at just as high a rate as Muslims, especially in Africa…the land education forgot…very similar to Alabama. When education is missing, bigots grow and the killing grows with it. In America we don’t just kill, but we exclude rights, or attempt to do so. Christians are not free of bloodshed and bigotry. Clean your house first.

We did when we abolished the Inquisition. You condemn those who are defending themselves against murdering Jihadis. If there’s more then you are mixing war with religion. Jesus never said to let murderers cut your throat. Everyone is guilty of prejudice but your baseless accusation that all Christians are bigots is your own bigotry speaking. The rights we exclude are the rights of those who would do evil to others. Jesus also never said to let evil rule. You are confused about whose house needs cleaning – it is your own vision that is obscured. http://rightwingnews.com/democrats/muslim-migrants-throw-12-christians-overboard-to-drown-on-way-to-italy-because-they-would-not-pray-to-allah/
